Fun Activities in DC to Celebrate Pride 2025

June is fast approaching and plans for Pride in DC are well underway. If you’re looking to join in the festivities, you’ve come to the right place! We’ve pulled together some of the best activities to celebrate DC Pride in 2025, with daytime marches and evening parties galore.

1. RIOT! The Capital Pride Official Opening Party

When: Friday June 9th, 9 pm – 3:30 am

Get ready to party at RIOT! The Capital Pride Official Opening Party. Hosted by the Capital Pride Alliance (the official organizers of Pride in DC), this event marks the start of this year’s Pride weekend – and it’s bound to be a wild one! Called “Riot” in homage to the Stonewall Uprising, this dance party is equal parts celebration and unapologetic protest. Expect nonstop music, boogying, and star-studded drag performers – this year’s party will feature Alaska and Tatianna from Drag Race! Don’t miss the opportunity to kick off Pride as your truest self. (Heads up, partiers need to be 18+.)

2. March for Pride

When: Saturday June 10th, 3 pm – 7:30 pm
Where: Route starts at Room & Board on 14th Street

Grab your rainbow flags and join Washington’s high-spirited Pride Parade through Logan and Dupont Circle in DC. Cheer on as participants march, dance and support the LGBTQIA+ community with their fabulous floats and displays! This parade is set to be one of the country’s biggest, with thousands gathering in DC to celebrate diversity and inclusion. Although registration to march in the parade is now full, there will be plenty of space for spectators. Adding to the festivities, the Swingers team will be proudly marching in the parade alongside DC’s amazing activists. We’ll see you there!

3. Rooftop Trans Pride Pool Party

Dive into the ultimate celebration of Trans Pride at the Rooftop Trans Pride Pool Party in Washington, DC. Hosted at the Penthouse Pool and Lounge in the vibrant U Street neighborhood, this one’s for 21+ trans revelers and allies who are ready to let loose and luxuriate! Catch the sunset, relax poolside and enjoy refreshing tipples in a gorgeous and inclusive atmosphere that totally embraces the trans community. Light bites of sandwiches, salads and tacos will be available too. Note that this is a free event, but spaces are limited, so grab those tickets fast! And don’t forget to bring your bathing suit.

4. Pride on the Pier and Fireworks Show

When: Saturday June 10th, 2 pm – 9 pm
Where: The Wharf, District & Transit Pier

Nothing says “time to celebrate” quite like fireworks! Check out the vibrant Washington Blade Pride on the Pier celebration, complete with an evening fireworks show. This family-friendly event is now in its fourth year and is a wonderful way to rejoice in LGBTQIA+ visibility. The day will start off with activities, entertainment, food and drink, including libations for those over 21. After the sun sets, you can take in the fireworks spectacular as everyone comes together for this year’s Pride on the Pier finale! This event is free (hooray!) but VIP tickets are available for those who would like access to an air-conditioned lounge, open bar and front-row spot for the fireworks.
